LaMar Harrington papers, 1957-2005.

The papers consist of correspondence, speeches and writings, research files, exhibit files, exhibit notices, catalogs, artists' Christmas cards, artist files, interview transcripts, awards, clippings, ephemera, a drawing, photographs, slides, sound recordings, and videotapes. Included are research materials for Harrington's Ceramics in the Pacific Northwest course (1979), together with her files as an arts consultant and her personal correspondence. Artists represented include Ivarose Bovingdon, William Creitz, John Fassbinder, Raymond Grimm, Erik Gronborg, Robert James, Connie Jarvis, Harold Myers, Eric Norstad, Kay Perine, Frances Senska, Kenneth Shores, Paul Soldner, Lorene Spencer, Robert Sperry, Peter Voulkos, and Virginia Weisel. Correspondents include Anne Hauberg, Evelyn Howie, Alice Kling, and Ragnhild Langlet.

LaMar Harrington joined the staff of the Henry Art Gallery at the University of Washington in 1956 and became associate director before her position was terminated in 1975. She worked from 1975 to 1978 in the Libraries' University Archives and Manuscripts Division on the Archives of Northwest Art, which she began at the Henry Art Gallery.
