Primarily memorabilia collected by Hays and his wife, Marion, documenting his career and numerous speaking engagements. Materials include a diary, letters and manuscript written by Hays, along with essays and letters written or collected by his son, Steele, his wife, Marion, or author Cyril E. Bryant, 1919-1984; awards and certificates presented to Hays, 1916-1982; scrapbooks and scrapbook materials which include printed articles both by and about Hays, political cartoons, and memorabilia, 1939-1991; photographs, motion pictures, and sound recordings, mostly of Hays speaking or attending various political, religious, and social functions, 1918-1982.
