Poetical commonplace book, ca. 1650.

Several different hands. One, p. 92-209, very similar to hand in V.a.96, leaves 1-84. Authors include Donne, Ben Jonson, Strode, and Thomas Randolph. Poems include Basse's epitaph on Shakespeare (p. 189); Herrick's King Oberon his cloathing, (p. 184); and Cowley's prologue and epilogue to The guardian acted before Prince Charles at Cambridge, 1641, (Wing C6673), (p. 212). On p. 216 is Mr. Denham's "Cooper's Hill", edited by B.O. Hehir in Expans'd hieroglyphicks.
