Lincoln (Bowdoin, M.D. 1827) lectured on anatomy and surgery at the University of Vermont Medical School and at the University of Maryland Medical School in Baltimore. While a student he was demonstrator in anatomy to Nathan Smith and to John Doane Wells, and between courses at Bowdoin he studied in Boston with George Cheyne Shattuck.
