Saying that during the past two years he has been absorbed in composing his PoeÌ⁰mes symphoniques (there are nine so far), which will be published in score by [Breitkopf &] HaÌ⁸rtel in 1854 and 1855, that he has written out the scores up to three or four times to incorporate the changes suggested by the orchestral rehearsals of the works--he is now satisfied with them and consequently can publish them "avec une parfaite se̹curite̹ de conscience"--, that he has finished his Faust Symphony, introducing the bearer of the letter, [Salvatore] Marchesi, an excellent baritone highly recommended by Garci̹a, speaking very highly of Marchesi and his wife, Mlle [Mathilde] Graumann, adding that he has a son, Daniel, "der mir über den Kopf wächst," mentioning Daniel's sisters, etc.
