Mint and excise mss. [1689-1702]

A volume of copies of approximately 30 documents relating to the Royal Mint during the time of Isaac Newton's involvement there. The volume has the appearance of being a "fair copy," as there are relatively few corrections and the writing throughout is in a very neat hand. Documents include the Grant of the office of warden of the Mint to Isaac Newton, various tables of fees and salaries of officers of the Mint, and patents of the excise office.
