Charles E. Erdmann was a geologist with the United States Geological Survey. Collection consists of field survey notebooks, reference notebooks, and miscellaneous notes. (SC 2503) Collection consists of one field survey notebook for north central Montana (1951-1956), a reference notebook, four research bibliography notebooks, miscellaneous loose notes, and a rolled chart of sand guage data.

Charles Edgar Erdmann was born September 22, 1897, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of Charles and Caroline Erdmann. He served in the Marine Corps in France during World War I. Erdmann received both a bachellor's and master's degree from the University of Minnesota. He received a doctorate from Yale University in 1926.
