Papers, 1894-1924.

The collection is in two parts. The first part (2 boxes) contains Stewart's personal papers, including correspondence, speeches, legal papers, program flyers, newspaper clippings, correspondence with Senator Harry S. New and Indiana governor Warren McCray, and papers relating to Stewart's involvement with the Knights of Pythias and other organizations. The second part (9 boxes) contains records related to the Indianapolis Recorder, 1896-1924, and includes correspondence files (1900-1924), legal documents, surveys, statistics, and a questionnaire. The remainder of the collection is made up of financial records, which are mostly receipts from the newspaper's many suppliers.
