The collection consists of two letters from H. L. Mencken to Ned Lee, dated August 15, 28, 1933 and three newspaper clippings; one about a picture Lee sent to Mencken to which the letters refer and two about illness of Mencken and retirement in Baltimore. Both letters poke fun at the Mississippi bible belt.
