Primarily letters from Elizabeth Philleo of Suffield, Connecticut, to her sister Ellen Loomis, discussing every day activities and contemporary events. Also includes letters to family members Calvin Philleo, Jr., George Welles Loomis, Ellen Loomis, Mindwell Pease Loomis, and Emily Louise Loomis from relatives Aunt Lucretia Loomis (called Cre), Aunt Cordelia Frances Loomis (called Cord), and John Marston Goodwin, Jr., Daniel Washington Norton, and John Norton. Another significant portion of correspondence consists of letters from Seymour Crane Loomis to his parents and to his sister Minnie (Mindwell Pease Loomis), primarily while Seymour was a student at Yale.
