Jackson Baker Roynon was born in Chicago, Ill. in 1907 and joined the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Colo. He was initially assigned to Company B of the 85th Infantry Regiment, but later served with Headquarters of the 1st Battalion of the 85th. Roynon also served at Camp Swift, Tex. and in Italy.
