Scope: Primarily includes transcriptions from the 1960-1964 seasons of the television panel program The Open Mind (several of these programs lack dates); lectures spanning 1957-1962 from Goldman's history classes covering the first half of twentieth century America (several lectures lack dates); several interviews conducted ca. 1965-1966 by Mr. Goldman with friends and associates of President Lyndon Johnson as research for the book The tragedy of Lyndon Johnson; lectures and speeches given by Goldman during the 1960s at various colleges and organizations; presentations from the Society of American Historians' receptions; two recordings in which Goldman's colleagues describe activities and events surrounding Goldman's job as special consultant to President Johnson; Zilphia Horton discussing folk singing, and Jay Haymond interviewing Jaren L. Jones about the 1960 Republican National Convention.
