Miscellaneous manuscripts, 1847.

Letter dated 1847 March 31, Munich, to the editor of the Morning Post of London, for publication. Montez attempts to counter other published reports by claiming to have been born in Seville in 1823; describing her parents; and stating that her name has always been Lola Dolores Porris Montez. She also states that she has renounced the stage and is now a naturalized Bavarian. Pasted to the letter are two 1856 clippings about Montez in Australia, again on the stage, and, on the reverse, a newspaper portrait of Montez.
