Documentary recording of a medicine show at the Chatham County Fair in Pittsboro, N.C., featuring Peg Leg Sam (1911-1977), born Arthur Jackson, African American harmonica player, singer, and comedian from Jonesville, S.C., telling jokes, stories, playing harmonica, and singing, and Chief Thundercloud, born Leo Kahdot (d. 1973), Native American medicine show pitch man from Oklahoma, making pitches for his soap, oil, and salves as cures for everything from corns to rheumatism.
