Recordings of traditional Irish musicians, including Paddy Canny, Willie Clancy, Junior Crehan, John Doherty, Paddy Fahy, Fred Finn, John Kelly, Denis Murphy, and Tommy Peoples, playing mostly instrumental dance music (jigs, reels, polkas, and slides) on fiddles, tin whistles, and uilleann pipes. These recordings were made in several counties in Ireland, primarily Clare, Galway, and Kerry, as well as in Dublin, Ireland; in addition, one recording was made in Scotland, featuring Tom Anderson. Also included are recordings of Irish and Scottish fiddle music from old 78 rpm records.

Tom Anderson, editor, publisher, and conservative political activist was born in Nashville, Tenn. in 1910. Graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1934, with a major in economics, Anderson was equally interested in political science and English.
