Topic one discusses relationships to land, dispossession, the limited land rights gains in New South Wales, South Australia and the Northern Territory, and the government's agreement in April1979 to discuss the signing of a treaty; Topic two discusses the Dreaming, the confrontation between the Aboriginal spiritually based philosophy and western materially based philosophy, the right of Aboriginal peoples to choose their lifestyles, improvements in government commitment to Aboriginal peoples and what remains to be done by governments; Topic three discusses multinational companies and development - in the negotiations between government and mining companies improvement for original land owners is stressed, but often the reverse is true, and there has been violation of sacred sites and a breakdown in the integrity and social fabric of communities; includes a copy of the three resolutions arising from the papers given at the Geneva conference.
