Included with the letter is an invitation to Monsieur and Madame Masson to attend an exhibition of paintings by Hilda Rix Nicholas entitled 'Australian life', 1925.

Australian artist. First formal training at the National Gallery School, Melbourne, under Frederick McCubbin. From 1907 to 1918 studied art in Europe in both London and Paris. Toured extensively during this time including trips to Italy and Morocco. From 1924 to 1926 returned to Europe with close friend Dorothy Richmond, taking a studio in Paris and touring regional France on painting trips. she was appointed an Associate of the Paris Salon in 1925.
