Autograph letter : New York, New York, to Frederick B. Adams, 1957 Mar. 19.

Telling him to ignore his letter of March 19, 1957 [MA 6432.3] because he will "find a way to finance my own research." Observes that "money in a curious but powerful way becomes a collaborator and I do not want one. Such strange avenues are opening up in this Malory work that a collaborator or an editor might exert a restraining or directional pressure which would be intolerable."
