Collection of autograph letters signed : [France], to Jules Castagnary, 1857-1859.

Collection consists primarily of letters concerning the publication of Castagnary's Philosophie du Salon, which was originally a report on the Salon of 1857 written for the Revue moderne, and recommending a young painter, Louis Deveau, among other topics. Also included is an invoice for publishing expenses related to Castagnary's Philosophie du Salon and a letter from Napoleon III to Georges-Eugène Haussmann.
