Saying that he is very happy that Euterpe is in fresh young hands, recommending the singer Rosalie Tittel (née Schulz) in Chemnitz, saying that his wife [Clara] will gladly play in the Euterpe, declining to join Brendel's society--"Sie wissen, ich habe immer das Freie, Unabhändige geliebt"--, adding that he has never belonged to a society of any kind--the spiritual bond that binds them is the strongest, etc.
