Thanking him for the program notes he wrote for the Cheltenham concert, which included Holst's Somerset Rhapsody, mentioning Cecil Sharpe, etc.; at the top Holst has written: "Come to my room after the show on Thursday and see the 'Planets' picture."

Gustav Holst (1874-1934), composer and music teacher, was born in Cheltenham, and educated at the local grammar school and at the Royal College of Music. He taught at St Pauls Girls School, and composed many pieces, most notably The Planets.
