Thanking him for his letter, saying he will of course visit Ries on his next visit to Berlin (on 8 December), that on 25 November he will perform Humperdinck's Ballade, which he thinks is one of the best choral works to appear in years, asking if Ries has time to come hear the work in person, etc.
