Thanking him for a day he recently spent at his friend's house, and saying how particularly touched the travelers were when Hauer's two gazelles suddenly reappeared in order to help them negotiate the rubbish heaps along the street ("als Ihre beiden Gazellen plötzlich wieder erschienen, und uns über die Schütthalden an der Strasse hinwegzuhelfen").
