Thanking him for his letter about a copy of Berlioz's Traité d'instrumentation, saying that he already owns a copy of the first edition inscribed by Berlioz to his teacher Le Sueur, and adding that the price asked by the dealer for the book is far beyond his means and "sans doute également la valeur marchande du livre!"
