Praising Ruskin's article "Poetry of Architecture" in London Architectural Magazine: "Your son is certainly the greatest natural genius that ever it has been my fortune to become acquainted with and I cannot but feel proud to think that at some future period when both you and I are under the turf, that it be fated in the literary history of your son's life that the first article of his which was published, was in Loudon's Mage. of Natl History," and noting that Ruskin "in a manner as unanswerable as any problem in Euclid" has proven one of the Magazine's writers wrong on a point about perspective.
