Thanking her for a gift of socks for her new baby [Una], reflecting at length upon her happiness in marriage ("GOD alone knows why I am so blest--why suns are perpetually rising on mid-noons in my heart and life"), praising her husband [Nathaniel] extravagantly ("He is so poetic, so etherial in his nature, of such noble healthfulness of mind and spirit, that truth and beauty shine through him unclouded"), anticipating the birth of her own child and looking forward to seeing Hooper's new baby.
