Commenting on Voltaire's desire to dedicate his tragedy of Tancrède to her: "When I determined myself to force the Marmotte of the Mount Jura I only thought of Voltaire being French and forgot he has been a Prussian. At this moment I forget it again and while I consent that he send me the manuscript of his tragedy, I would not hesitate to tell him what I think of it naturally it will be of the same kind as of (almost) all of his works that of pleasing me ..."
