Thanking him for the copies of the Transactions and mentioning in particular the letter from Wordsworth to Landor, regretting that Knight's publisher did not take up his offer, mentioning sonnets he wrote on Wordsworth and promising to send them, and discussing these and other poems. Included with this letter are notes by De Vere on the following poems: "On the Power of Sound," "The Triad," "The Wishing Gate," "To a Skylark," and "Scorn Not the Sonnet."
