Autograph letters signed (2), dated : [Paris], 28 April 1859, to [A.-J.] Lorentz 1845 Sept. 10.

Suggesting [in 1845] that he take his manuscript to the Journal des débats between 6:00 and 7:00: M. Bertin is always there at that hour; and thanking him [in 1859, where the name is spelled Lorenz] for his letter, quoting (in French) a passage from Shakespears's Coriolanus, saying that he would like to be able to take Lorentz to Baden the coming August "pour vous chanter l'Adagio de Romeo et Juliette," quoting (in French, and slightly paraphrased) from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, II, ii ("Mon amour est immense et profond comme la mer," etc.), mentioning the comtesse Kalergi; at the end, Berlioz writes out the well-known melody from the "Scène d'amour" from Roméo.
