Autograph letter signed, dated : [Exeter] Aug. 29 1840, to F[ranz von] Schober in Vienna, 1840 Aug. 29.

Expressing regret that Schober could not have joined him on his English tour, saying that expenses in England are enormous, mentioning his forthcoming engagement in Russia that year, saying he will return to London on 15 May 1841, that he is thinking of spending the next winter in Constantinople--he is is tired of the West and "je voudrai respirer des parfums [et] me rechauffer au soleil, echanger la fumée du charbon de terre contre la douce fumée du narguilé"--, saying his uncle has written of Schober's kindnesses to him, asking Schober to ask Castelli to translate Liszt's article on Paganini that appeared in the Revue musicale of 23 August and put it in the Theater Zeitung--he would also like it translated into Hungarian and put in the Hirnők--, mentioning the Comtesse d'Agoult, his Beethoven-Cantata for Bonn in 1842, etc.
