Collection of autograph letters signed (24), a letter signed, and a document signed : London and Oates [near Harlow, Essex], to Cornelius Lyde and others, 1678 July 26-1703 June 28.

A collection of 24 autograph letters signed from Locke: two letters are to Nicholas Toinard, one letter is to Edward Clarke, and the remainder of the letters are to Cornelius Lyde. The collection also includes one letter signed written by an amanuensis (MA 231.21) and an autograph document signed (MA 231.4) in which Locke nominates Lyde to be his attorney. Most of the letters discuss currency problems and the management of Locke's estate. Items in the collection are described in 26 individual records (MA 231.1-26).
