Thanking them for their support and dedication during his long and unhappy illness, saying that, although his throat is "en pleine suppuration" and that he has the greatest difficulty in swallowing even the simplest food, he has decided to return to the rehearsals, thanking his colleagues who are performing in Gaveaux's Enfant prodigue--yet another sign of their affection--, etc.
