Asking him to keep writing to Donizetti in exile--an exile that may become his second home--, mentioning the arrival of Sigr. Holmes, whom he will introduce to the secrets of French politics, saying he was distressed to learn of the disappearance of "la filarmonica"--Sic transit gloria mundi--, adding that he will soon travel to Milan, Vienna, and Naples, then return to Paris for the performance of another opera, etc.
