Reporting at some length on the successful première of Linda [di Chamounix] the night before, saying he goes to see S.M. [i.e., Emperor Ferdinand I of Austria] that day to give him an Ave Maria, that he goes to Metternik [i.e., Prince Metternich] to hear Sontag, that he wishes to go to Florence to conduct [Rossini's] Stabat [mater], mentioning [Maria] Padilla, Tadolini, Brambilla, Rovere, Derivis, Varesi, Persico, and other persons, etc.
