Correspondence, memos, soundscribers, telegrams, book lists, certificates of posting, export licences and cancelled checks ( cheques ) relating to the acquisition of books for the University of New Brunswick Library. Included in the file is a list of those who donated material to the library including Winston Churchill, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and Lady Sykes and Richard Law as well as a catalogue of books owned by Bonar Law. Discussion concerns: the planned, and subsequently postponed opening of the Bonar Law-Bennett Library Wing because of Richard Law's election predicament; the process and cost involved in stamping "Beaverbrook Collection" on books donated by Lord Beaverbrook; procedures for handling duplicate books; problems encountered with the Canadian Custom and Excise Dept.; Beaverbrook's desire to dispose of the library's rare books and first editions in order to purchase more material for undergraduate use.
