Manuscript warrant signed by Thomas Herring, Archbishop of York : London, 1752 Apr. 28.

Warrant (addressed to William Pitt, here styled Pay Master General of His Majesty's Guards, Garrisons and Land Forces) for a tax to deduct 12 pence from every 20 shillings of the pay of His Majesty's forces. Signed by seven officials, including Thomas Herring, Archbishop of York. With a register of accounts on the verso, also signed by the same seven officials. Dated Whitehall, 28 April 1752.
