Montana pamphlet collection.

This is our largest single collection, with nearly 200 boxes divided into hundreds of subject areas. The collection is organized alphabetically by subject, and it includes material from the nineteenth century to the present. In addition to the alphabetical subject files, the collection includes a separate group of materials relating to specific individuals listed in the "Personal Names" section of the finding aid. Note that the categories listed here refer to folders of material that might include pamphlets, brochures, or newspaper clippings from various sources.

On February 22, 1889, President Grover Cleveland signed an enabling act known as the Omnibus Statehood Bill, providing for constitutional conventions to be called on July 4, 1889, in Montana, Washington, and North and South Dakota territories.
