Earle Bradford Mayfield (1881-1964), a 1901 graduate of the University of Texas Law School, served in the Texas Senate (1907-1913), as a member of Texas Railroad Commission (1913-1923), and in the U.S. Senate (1922-1928). After leaving the Senate, Mayfield practiced law and was president of the Mayfield Wholesale Grocery Company in Tyler, Texas, until his retirement in 1952.
