Correspondence of Boston and Newport merchants, 1732-1790 (inclusive).

Four volumes of letters collected together and bound from the correspondence of a number of merchants engaged in trade between Boston and Newport, R.I., and relating to details of cargoes and prices of merchandise. Includes letters concerning the oil trade with William Rotch of New Bedford, Mass. Correspondents include Henry Lloyd, William Powell, Samuel Barrett and Company, David Lopez, Jr., Moses M. Hays, and John Powell, all of Boston; and Aaron Lopez and Christopher Champlin, both of Newport. Letters from John Powell to Champlin comprise a full volume.
