Entries in the diaries concern plantation management, slavery, money received and paid (mostly for gambling debts), horses, the Stamp Act, the coming and progress of the American Revolution and smallpox inoculation. Also includes records of births, deaths, marriages, and visits. Some diaries were kept in Virginia Almanacks.
