The collection contains medical and anthropological data; books; periodicals; pamphlets; reprints; extracts and manuscripts in English and Lakota; drawings by Short Horn and Thunder Bear of Sioux ceremonial customs; recordings of Sioux mythology and ceremonies in Lakota; and photographs of Sioux customs and ceremonies. Some of the written and recorded materials are by Edgar Fire Thunder and George Sword, and are translated by Clark Wissler and Ella Deloria.
