Photographs: portraits of an actor and actress from a production of "She passed through Laramie" and sketches of sets for the "Emperor Jones" produced at the University Civic Theatre, University of Denver, Denver, Colorado. Portraits of C.M. Day and images of unidentified men, women, and children in probably Colorado. Some views of Mexico and the Grand Canyon in Arizona. Postcards of the 32nd Triennial Conclave of the Knights Templar. Photographs of men haying. Album contains studio and group portraits of Native American men, women, and children taken at the Festival of Mountain and Plain by photographers Rose & Hopkins in 1899. Tribes and groups represented include: Ute, Arapaho, Pueblo, Shoshone, and Wiminuche.

The Adams Express Company was founded in Boston in 1839. Originally called Burke and Company, its name was changed to Adams and Company after only two weeks when Alvin Adams agreed to buy out his partner. Born in Minerva, Ohio. In 1879 began work for the Adams Express Co. in Columbus, Ohio as a messenger. Assisted in establishing offices for the company between Denver, Salt Lake City and San Francisco on the Denver & Rio Grande and the Western Pacific railroads. Supervised the Denver, Colo. office until 1918. Served as first president for the Denver Convention League.
