Correspondence between committee members and SBC agency personnel, including Porter Routh, executive secretary-treasurer of the Executive Committee, and information on the committee meetings is found in the files. The collection includes news stories and editorials on the Committee of Fifteen, questionnaires and responses from agencies and institutions, and drafts of the committee's final report.

The Home Mission Board began work in Cuba in 1886. Work in the country expanded for about a decade, but by the end of the Spanish-American War in 1898, nearly all mission activity had been demoralized.
