Typescript transcript of journal concerning his emigration from Scotland as sub-manager of a projected experimental farm at the Hudson's Bay Company's Red River Settlement, 1830; establishment of the farm; his overland journey from Fort Garry to Kentucky for sheep in 1832-1833; fur trading ventures and explorations for the Company on the heads of the Stikine, and in the Yukon Valley; and adventures among the Indians of the Northwest Coast.
