Dr. Corinne Lathrop Gilb was born in Lethbridge, Alberta to American parents. She moved with her family to Washington State at the age of eight, and received a B.A. from the University of Washington, and a Ph.D. at Radcliffe College. She married Tyrell Gilb in 1945.
