Entered by Bancroft under "Sigüenza y Góngora, Carlos, El Fénix de la América." For the probably incorrect attribution of this work to Sigüenza, see Beristáin, Biblioteca Hispano Americana Septentrional, 3rd ed., Vol. II, p. 208, Note 46 (Ramírez's note), and Vol. IV, p. 348, Note 112 (Adición).

Ezekial Thatcher was clerk of the Parkville School District, Shasta County, Calif. He emigrated to California from Pennsylvania in 1850 and helped establish the first school district in the Parkville area. He is descended from the Thatchers of Uffington, England, the same family as Denis Thatcher, husband of British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. From the description of H.H.
