Reminiscences of a British officer, interspersed with copies of the following: orders for officers on the island, letters and reports dealing with the illness, death and autopsy of Napoleon, records of court martials, correspondence between Count Bertrand and Sir Hudson Lowe, etc. At the end: mention of his passage to and service in India. The last entry is dated November 6, 1822.

The library of C.K. Odgen, Great Britain, was purchased for the University of California in 1957. The approximately 74,000 volumes were distributed to various UC campuses, with 6,213 to UC Berkeley. These were distributed in the General Library, including the Moffitt Undergraduate Library and the Rare Books and Special Collections Dept.
