Sermon upon the passion of our Lord Jesus Christ : Preached at Cranforde on the Sunday before Easter in the yeare of our lord 1640 ; Sermon upon the resurrection of Jesus Christ : Preached at Cranford on Easter day, anno dni. 1640 ; Pooremans portion : sett forth in a sermon, feelingly penn'd but not as yet preached ; Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ, as it was acted by the bloodye Jewes and registred by the blessed Evangelistes. [1640-1641]

A collection of 4 religious works written by minister John Bourcher and presented to his benefactor Michael Bowyer as a token of his appreciation. While the first two sermons Bourcher included were preached by him in 1640, he states in his presentation to Bowyer that a third sermon and a poem were penned with the expectation that he might one day return to the pulpit after an illness. While the particulars of Bourcher's life are unknown, it is possible he was a minister in Cranford, Middlesex, while the Michael Bowyer for whom this work was written may be the stage actor of the 1620s-1640s of the same name.
