Records, 1901-1923.

This bound volume includes a number of records bound together under an artificial title. The spine title: Minutes of the San Diego Marine Biological Association and the Scripps Institution of Oceanography is incorrect. The volume includes more than minutes and does not include Marine Biological Association material as the Association assigned all of its property over to the Regents of the University of California and had, thus, ceased to exist in February, 1912. The volume includes: Bill of sale for the vessel Ellen Browning, n.d.; minutes of meetings of the Scripps Institution for Biological Research, 1912-1914; minutes of meetings of the Local Board of Directors of the Scripps Institution for Biological Research, 1912-1918. Includes budget reports; minutes of meetings of the Executive Committee of the Local Board of Directors of the Scripps Institution for Biological Research, Feb.-Aug., 1913; financial reports, 1915-1917; constitutions and by-laws of the Scripps Institution for Biological Research with drafts and amendments; "Mailing List, Fish Administration, Mar., 1918"; Correspondence of Wm. E. Ritter, Ellen B. Scripps, E.W. Scripps, representatives of the University of California and others concerning the organization and financial aspects of the Scripps Institution for Biological Research; Accounts of the San Pedro Laboratory, University of California, April-July, 1901; 9 p. fragment of an essay by Francis B. Sumner entitled: "The Scripps Institution," ca. 1923; "Constitution and By-Laws of the Local Board of the Scripps Institution for Biological Research".
