Correspondence, sketches, color separations, negative proofs, text paste-ups, galleys, and greeting cards. The Collection holds sketches for Secret of the Andes (1952) and The timid ghost (1966). Color separations are included for Kittens, cubs & babies (1959); Our lady of Guadalupe (1955); Secret of the Andes; and The timid ghost. The Collection holds negative proofs for the dust jacket for Secret of the Andes and text paste-ups for The timid ghost. There are also galleys for The timid ghost. Finally, the Collection includes greeting cards designed by Jean Charlot and some unidentified color separations.

Jean Charlot was an artist, teacher, scholar, critic, poet, and playwright. He studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts, and served in the French Army from 1918 to 1920. After the war he moved to Mexico, where he had relatives, and joined a group of other young artists in the Mexican Mural Renaissance of the 1920s.
